* Chicago’s South Side - The South Side encompasses approximately 60% of the city’s land area. Because of a higher ratio of Chicago single-family homes and large portions of land allocated for industry, the South Side is less populated then the North Side. Chicago’s Hyde Park, Mount Greenwood, Morgan Park and Beverly have traditionally been home to the middle and upper-middle classes, as well as many wealthy Chicago residents.
